One team looking for its first title. The other looking for its first since 1971. The NBA’s conference finalists gave us four teams starved for a championship – with two total between them – and yet somehow this matchup is said to be lacking something else. Sorry, but it won’t be the market size. It could be the stars, if the injury bug of these playoffs keeps biting. But only in the NBA Finals is it suggested to be a disappointment if the biggest markets – you know, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia – don’t make it. Wait, only the Lakers from that list of top four designated metropolitan areas have been recently relevant… in a bubble. So, I guess we should just tune out the noise, hope for health and enjoy what should be a fun Finals.

Scoreboard Page: Milwaukee has impressed me without Giannis. So much so that I’m rolling with the Bucks, even with his status in doubt. It’s a bold move, but one injury could change fortunes, as the Suns and all of the playoff teams this year well know. I can see Chris Paul and Devin Booker leading the Suns to their first title, but I can also see Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday doing the same for Milwaukee. But it sure would help to find a Freak in the Finals lineup. Bucks in 7.
